The Stones are very excited about their ministry in the church and community. God has blessed the church with one exciting opportunity after another. Pastor David is also a chaplain with the Sarasota Police Department, a chaplain with the Showfolks club for circus performers, and is a former president of the NABCE, the national organization for the pastors of the Brethren Church.

Pastor David Stone
and his wife, Jill, came to First Brethren in February of 1997. The city and
church were not new to David, however. He grew up in Sarasota and attended the
church until he went to Ohio for his college education. Jill is from Goshen,
Indiana. They met at Ashland University where David was earning his bachelor's
degree in Sociology and Jill was on her way to an Elementary Education degree.
David went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree at Ashland Theological
Seminary. They served in three churches in Ohio, Indiana and Florida before
returning to David's home in Sarasota. (Jill learned to love Sarasota as well.)
